Tea Culture of the World : Skin Glow Tea Review

When it comes to drinking herbal teas somehow I don’t really enjoy the plain green tea, not that I hate it but then I don’t even love it. So while I was on my regular grocery shopping in Hypercity-Vashi; I came across this sales girl who was selling some amazing teas in different colours stored in huge glass jars and I was curious to know more about it. From all the varieties of teas that were shown to me I chose to buy the Skin Glow Tea.

Today I am going to review Tea Culture of the World Skin Glow Tea, so let’s get started.

Since it was being sold in loose quantity, I do not have the exact list of the ingredients in the tea, however based on my conversation with the sales girl, the mixture contains the following ingredients :

  • Rose petals
  • Chrysanthemum flowers
  • Tea leaves
  • Almonds

  • The aroma of the rose petals & chrysanthemum flowers is rejuvenating and the almonds just add a nutty flavour to it
  • I had to pay Rs.600/- for 50grams packet which surely sounds expensive, however you will need only 1 tbsp to make one cup of tea and the same tea leaves could be reused thrice in one day (Please note that this must not be used on the next day)
  • Preparing this tea is quite simple, just add 1 tbsp of the tea leaves to 1 1/2 cup of water and boil it, depending upon how strong you like your tea you can boil it accordingly
  • Consuming this tea regularly will help soothe & glow your skin, however I am yet to see this happening once I start drinking this regularly

Here are a few pictures of the tea that I made..

To sum up the Pros and Cons:

PROS

  • A must try for those who are looking for an alternative for green tea
  • The aroma is mild & mesmerising (catches your attention instantly)
  • The blend of the flowers and almonds together gives it a tasty flavour
  • Unlike certain teas that should preferably be consumed at a specific time of the day, this tea can be consumed at any time
  • Regular consumption of the tea helps clear our skin (I am yet to consume this regularly to notice the difference)

CONS

  • Even though the tea leaves would last long but I would still consider this as expensive
  • Availability could be a problem since it may not be available in all general grocery stores
  • Since it is sold as loose tea leaves it is not a very travel friendly option. Had this been in tea bags it would have been much more convenient to use

Overall I really enjoy drinking this tea and it is a good option for those who are looking to try new types of healthy teas.

I would rate it as 7/10 :-), you can find this in Hypercity Vashi or check their website for online ordering https://teacultureoftheworld.com

A Lovely Morning Breakfast ! My wish

It’s not every day that we get to start our day sitting in a cafe sipping some hot beverage along with a lip-smacking breakfast meal and yes chatting with our friends too!

Recently I decided to fulfil my wish to start off the day with breakfast at a cafe nearby and that is none other than Starbucks!

This post is not from the point of view of reviewing the cafe or the food, it is about spending some time; to slow down the fast-paced life we have and relax for sometime. To start with I decided to order a Chilli Cheese Toast and seeing this the health freak angel in me told me to balance it off with a cup of Green Tea instead of Hot Chocolate 😛 so here comes the Green Tea with my Chilly Cheese Toast!

(I generally eat early breakfast but today had a late one)

Since it was morning time, it wasn’t crowded at all and this made it even better for me to sit back & continue the gabfest with my friends.

I would like to end this post by saying that, it may not be possible for us to plan a vacation very often considering the busy schedule we all have and in order to compensate for this it’s nice to catch up with your family & friends and relax !! Oh yes and start to fulfil small wishes from your wishlist!

Nectar – Pineapple & Valencia Orange juice Review

The biggest obstacle for anyone trying to get fit is being on a healthy diet. Often we sideline our health and realise its importance only when we end up at the doctor’s clinic. In my mission to stay fit, I came across Nectar – that serves cold pressed juices with no water, sugar & preservatives. Before I start with the review, let me tell you what is exactly a cold pressed juice?

What is a cold pressed juice?

The juice is extracted from fruits & vegetables using hydraulic press (method of applying extreme pressure using certain equipments to extract the juice). Cold pressed juices are considered to be expensive compared to other juices available in the market as they are made of 100% fruits & vegetables.

Benefits of Pineapples & Valencia Oranges

  • Pineapples help in supporting your immune system, for stronger bones & aids digestion
  • Valencia Oranges helps in lowering cholesterol levels, blood pressure and reduces risks of certain types of cancer

Now that you know what is a cold pressed juice and the benefits of the fruits in the juice that I am going to review, so let’s get started !!

Name : Nectar – Wellness Treasure

Type of Juice : Pineapple & Valencia Orange cold pressed juice

    Price : Rs. 80/- for 200 ml

For those who wish to know the nutritional content, here are the details :

    • The juice is delivered in a glass bottle which is a more eco-friendly option than a plastic one
    • The taste is truly nectarous, the sweet & sour taste of the oranges blend really well with the sweetness of the pineapples
    • Unlike a regular fruit juice which you can gulp down in a second the consistency of this juice is a bit more thick which I really like as it allows me to relish every sip of it, this is probably due to the pineapples which gives it, it’s lovely consistency
    • Nectar is true to its words as the taste of the juice is fresh with no water, no sugar or preservatives and tastes exactly how it would be, if we prepared it at home
    • Though you can store the juice for 72 hours but it is suggested to consume it within 48 hours since there are no preservatives in it. Generally I refrigerate the juice and keep it out for 15-20 minutes before consuming it

To sum up the Pros & Cons

    Pros

    • Smart option for those who cannot make healthy fruit juices at home
    • Affordable
    • Home Delivery – they also have monthly subscription plans
    • Variety of juices depending on your requirements
    • Truly fresh with no sugar, preservatives or water

    Cons

    • Availability could be a problem, since it is available as of now only in Navi Mumbai
    • Since the bottle is made of glass it could be tampered unlike plastic bottles or tetra packs where it can be easily identified if the bottle has been tampered with

My Ratings : I will give it a score of 8.5/10

Below is their menu if you wish to order:

Masala Wok Restaurant -Review straight from a Foodie’s mouth

Food is something I always love. I am the kind of person who goes for a movie thinking more about the nachos they serve with salsa & cheese sauce than the movie itself 😛 . Whether you are a foodie or not, going out to restaurants or cafes with family & friends is something we all like.

On such occasions if the restaurant you visit serves you lip smacking food,it would be like icing on the cake.Today I am going to review ‘Masala Wok‘ a restaurant located in one of the busiest places in Navi Mumbai i.e. Vashi.

Let’s get started with the review right from a Foodie’s mouth !

Name of the restaurant: Masala Wok

Location : Sector – 10,Opposite Municipality Hospital, Vashi, Navi Mumbai 400703

    Cuisine: Mughlai, Chinese, Thai

    About the Owner :

    • Mr. Pratik Mohanthy started this restaurant about 5 years back
    • He has graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management, Hyderabad
    • Also worked as a management trainee in The Oberoi and was among the only five students from the Kitchen department to get selected from all over India and got his degree from The Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development,Delhi
    • He has also worked at Taj,The Leela Kempinski,The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Coming to the food & ambience here,

    Lemon Pepper Coriander Soup

    • Masala Wok is where I dared to try a soup different from our regular tomato & manchow soups and it was worth it
    • This piping hot soup is perfect for the rainy season

(Image of the Lemon Pepper Coriander Soup)

Chicken Peri Peri Kebab & Paneer Peri Peri Kebab

    • It is the signature dish and my staple appetizer of this restaurant and I have it almost every time I visit this place.Don’t forget to try this one
    • The chicken is really juicy & tender and the Peri Peri sauce blends really well with the masala of the kebab & is so flavourful that you can just clean the entire plate with your tongue
    • For my vegetarian friends they have the Cottage Cheese (Paneer)version as well, I have had this one in the past and this is yummy too
    • The quality of the Cottage Cheese used is very good, it’s really soft & fresh
    • With the month of Shravan approaching, most of you who will avoid eating non-veg can try this one (in the month of Shravan many communities avoid eating Non-veg in India)

(Images of the Chicken Peri Peri Kebab)

    Cheesy Hara Bhara Kebab

    • This one is different from the regular Hara Bhara Kebabs we have had, it has a lovely cheesy twist.Even if you love eating Non-veg, you should try this one
    • Blocks of cheese inside the kebab is so good that it just melts in your mouth & will make you want to eat more
    • It’s flavourful & mild at the same time
    • If you are the kind of person who doesn’t like too much of spicy food then this is your best appetizer

(Images of the Cheesy Hara Bhara Kebab)

Lucknowi style Nawabi Matka Biryani (Veg &Non Veg)

    • Biryani is my all time favourite dish. It’s a dish complete in itself isn’t it ?
    • I have had both the veg & non veg versions of this biryani here
    • The aroma of the Biryani itself is enough to make your stomach growl for it
    • You will find that the taste of this biryani is very different from the biryanis we generally get to eat
    • It’s truly rich and Nawabi (Royal)

(Images of Lucknowi style Nawabi Matka Biryani – Non Veg)

    • They also serve refreshing mocktails and for my sweet tooth friends some enticing desserts as well but because I wanted to avoid cold beverages & sweet food for some time I did not opt for it this time. You can surely give this a try as I have had both mocktails & desserts in the past at Masala Wok and I loved them.

(Here is a picture of the mocktail I had ordered when I visited Masala Wok with my family sometime back, I suppose this is a Strawberry Mocktail though I am not sure about it’s name)

    Ambience & Service

    • I like the ambience, this place has good lightings (neither too bright nor too dark; good for selfie clickers 😛 )
    • Service wise they are quite diner friendly.

    (Images of the restaurant)

For me a Review is incomplete without a summary and so I have made the Pros & Cons of this place

    PROS

    • Delectable menu
    • Variety in the menu
    • Affordable(Rs.750/- for 3 people approx.)
    • Quantity is good for the price being paid
    • Hygienic
    • Friendly staff, the owner personally looks into the requirements of each of the diners at the restaurant
    • Masala Wok is present on Swiggy & Zomato so even in the monsoons you can enjoy their delicious food at the comfort of your home.
    • They take party, special occasion orders, as well.(I have had their party menu food as well for one of my friend’s wedding, it was truly scrumptious)

    CONS

    • Can’t really say if this is a con but it takes time to prepare the dish(possibly that’s why the food tastes fresh).
    • The place is a little small in my opinion but the way in which it is growing, I am sure they will have to expand it.

I hope you enjoyed reading the Review of Masala Wok right from a Foodie’s mouth.

Visit it with your family & friends and share your experience in the comment box below.
